BS 7671 2008 17th Edition of the Wiring Regulations
“612.12      Check of phase sequence indication
for multiphase circuits, it shall be verified that the phase sequence is maintained” (section 612 Testing, page 161 of the 17th Edition)

Test Instrument Solutions

Have introduced the TIS 415 Which carries out the requirements of the 17th Edition, for phase sequence indication and much more.

The instrument determines the phase sequence of three phase systems and the rotational direction of three phase motors, using non-contact and or contact technology

Phase Sequence
Simply connect the TIS 415, using the test leads, to L1, L2 and L3, the instrument  will indicate the field of phase sequence

Motor Rotation – Non-Contact
Place the TIS 415 on top of the motor with the base of the instrument facing the shaft of the motor, press the test button, the green light will illuminate, and the instrument will detect the magnetic field and display the field of motor rotation

Motor Rotation – Contact
Connect the TIS 415, using the test leads to T1, T2 and T3 of the motor, press the test button and turn the motor shaft a quarter turn to the right and the instrument will display the field of motor rotation

The TIS 415 is supplied complete with test leads, crocodile clips and a padded carrying case with a shoulder strap.
